I propose that the State of Michigan recognize industrial hemp as an agricultural crop not subject to additional regulation. Products derived from the processing of industrial hemp are not subject to any restrictions by the State of Michigan. Industrial hemp should be treated no different that corn or soybeans. Industrial hemp provides both seed and fiber. Many of our Founding fathers grew industrial hemp. This crop is friendly to the environment and does not require pesticides or herbicides. The time is now to ask why are we not allowing Michigan farmers the opportunity to grow this agricultural crop and legalize this crop. Added below are some photos portraying my point.
